FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT PRODUCT PHOTOGRAPHY

How many images do I get on my contact sheet to choose from?
You will need to let me know how many images you intend to purchase before the shoot. I will include around (approx) 6 times the number of images on the contact sheet, to give you plenty of choice. An example contact sheet can be seen here: Patchi Chocolates

Where are you based?
My studio is located in London: 20 mins walk from Turnham Green Tube or private pick-up by private arrangement.

Do you use digital or film?
I use both. I currently use digital for product photographs, as it means faster processing for you, and can achieve a higher quality during re-touching. Although many differences, in my opinion, the main difference to watchout for in photography work between digital and film is depth of field, this is due to the size of the sensor inside the camera. Any good photographer knows how to achieve the same results on digital aswell as film.

Do you have a big studio with lots of impressive equipment on show?
Don't expect that good photography requires huge fashion lights and large equipment, as this simply isn't the case! The best photography is achieved with perserverance and experience, not with a lot of high-end gear.

Can I get outdoor or indoor shots?
I recommend indoor studio photography for most product photography, however, iIf you have a preference, let me know and I'll do my best to achieve results you like.

Is re-touching included?
My work is carefully re-touched where necessary to ensure you achieve the best possible image. Re-touching can do wonders on any photograph, however, it's most important that your photographs look like the product!
